How is this calculated?

A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Run Wings first to get pairing code On a fresh install, start Wings by running `wings` in your terminal so it shows the setup pairing code. Without that code, things that need to connect to the panel can't finish pairing. source
  • Create and fill in the .env file Put the .env settings file in the /etc/calagopus config folder, fill in required values before starting the panel, and keep it safe. It can hold passwords and database settings, so missing or wrong values can stop the app from starting or connecting. source
  • Match your database login settings If your setup uses a separate database (the app's data store), set DB_CONNECTION, DB_HOST, DB_PORT, DB_DATABASE, DB_USERNAME, and DB_PASSWORD in .env to match it. If these don't point to a real running database, the panel may appear to start but can't save data or let you log in. source

Common questions

What .env requirements can stop the Calagopus panel from starting?

Put the .env settings file in the /etc/calagopus config folder and fill in required values before starting the panel. Missing or wrong values can stop the app from starting or connecting.

How do I get the Wings pairing code on a fresh install?

Start Wings by running wings in your terminal so it shows the setup pairing code. Without that code, components that need to connect to the panel can't finish pairing.

What can make a Pelican migration seem to start but fail to save data or log in?

If the setup uses a separate database, DB_CONNECTION, DB_HOST, DB_PORT, DB_DATABASE, DB_USERNAME, and DB_PASSWORD in .env must point to a real running database. If they do not match, the panel may appear to start but can't save data or let you log in.

Where does Calagopus document reverse proxy and SSL setup?

The Additional section covers SSL certificates and reverse proxies. It also covers OAuth and migrating from Pterodactyl or Pelican.

Is there a way to disable local username/password login when using OAuth in the AIO image?

There is an open issue requesting the ability to disable local username/password login when OAuth is used. It was reported for Calagopus AIO in Docker Compose with Authentik generic OIDC.
