First-install notes
- Install Budibase with Helm If you are using Kubernetes (a system for running many apps) and Helm (a package manager for Kubernetes), add the Budibase repository and install the chart into a namespace (a separate area in Kubernetes). This installs the main Budibase pieces together, so you are less likely to end up with a broken or half-set-up app. source
- Use a custom values.yaml Before you start, put your ports, login, and data settings in a values.yaml file (the file where you tell Helm which settings to use) and run the Helm install command with -f values.yaml. This lets you get those settings right on first start, instead of stopping the app later to fix wrong ports or missing login options. source
- Start Redis TLS if needed If your setup uses Redis (a small helper database) with TLS (an encrypted connection), start it with the provided Docker Compose file and set the username, password, and port if they are not the defaults. Budibase can fail logins or background tasks if this helper service is missing or has mismatched details. source
