Common questions
Which Docker folders need to be persisted for MT Photos?
Map host folders for mt_photos/config and mt_photos/upload to the container, because files inside the container are removed when the container is deleted.
What happens to new photo scanning after the trial ends?
The server is paid and supports a one-month trial. After the trial ends, the server stops scanning new files and the app stops backing up new photos and videos, while the Apple, Android, and Harmony apps are free to use.
How should I expose MT Photos for access outside my LAN?
If you have a public IP, use DDNS with router port mapping and enable HTTPS with an SSL certificate. If you do not have a public IP, use an intranet tunnel such as frp or Zerotier, or a remote network such as WireGuard.
How can I limit login attempts or add login security?
The login endpoint is limited to 10 requests per minute by default and can be adjusted with the LOGIN_RPM environment variable. Two-factor authentication can also be enabled from the web user menu or app settings.
