OctoEverywhere is a self-hosted 3D printer companion that provides free remote access from any device. It connects OctoPrint, Klipper, Mainsail, Fluidd, Bambu Lab, Elegoo, Prusa, and Creality printers to a private cloud service for remote monitoring, control, and artificial intelligence (AI) print failure detection. It is for homelab makers who want to manage multiple printers without manual port forwarding.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Fill in printer IP and data folder Before starting the container, replace the placeholder printer IP, companion mode, and local data folder in the Docker command. If these are wrong, OctoEverywhere may point at the wrong printer or lose settings when the container is deleted. source
  • Get the account linking link from logs After startup, check the container logs (the app's startup messages) for a line containing the OctoEverywhere get-started link, then open that link to connect your account. Without it, you can't finish linking your account to the printer. source
  • Add MQTT settings only for Bambu Lab If you use a Bambu Lab or Elegoo printer, set the MQTT relay variables (this usually uses port 1883 for a message relay) and add the upstream username/password when required. Without them, those printers may not connect through OctoEverywhere. source

Common questions

How do I link my OctoEverywhere account after running the Docker container?

Check the container startup logs for a line containing the OctoEverywhere get-started link and open that link. If you skip this step, you cannot finish linking your account to the printer.

Do I need MQTT settings for every connected printer?

Only Bambu Lab or Elegoo printers need MQTT relay variables. Set the upstream username and password when required; the MQTT relay usually uses port 1883.

Can the OctoEverywhere mobile app discover my printer automatically?

The OctoEverywhere app can auto-detect the printer's LAN IP. It can also know whether the printer is disconnected from OctoEverywhere.

What channels can printer notifications use?

It can send printer notifications to SMS, Email, Discord, Telegram, Slack, and other channels.
