Does PreviewMaid need a reverse proxy or web UI?
No; it runs as a Docker container that contacts Plex using PLEX_URL and PLEX_TOKEN. The docs only show container environment variables, not a host port for a web interface.
What Plex credentials does it require?
It requires PLEX_URL and PLEX_TOKEN environment variables pointing to your Plex instance and API token.
Can I exclude certain libraries from the scan?
Yes. Use SKIP_LIBRARY_TYPES for types such as movie, show, or photo, and SKIP_LIBRARY_NAMES for individual library names, both as comma-separated lists.
How do I make PreviewMaid exit after a single scan?
Set RUN_ONCE to true. It will run once and output before exiting instead of staying scheduled.
Where can I persist PreviewMaid logs?
Mount a volume at /app/logs. The log file is rotated and keeps the last 5 runs, and console output then shows statistics only.
Does PreviewMaid create missing thumbnail previews?
It finds missing previews; you force creation with the Analyze option on the library or media item in Plex. If thumbnail generation fails, set GenerateBIFKeyframesOnly to 0 in Plex advanced settings, which increases generation time and CPU load.
