Maintainerr is an automation tool for self-hosted media stacks that removes stale or unwatched content. It applies user-defined rules, moves flagged movies and shows to a review collection, waits for a grace period, and then deletes them from your media server, media managers, and request tool. It is useful for Jellyfin, Emby, Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, and Seerr users. Use Maintainerr to stop abandoned requests and unwatched items from filling your storage.

How is this calculated?

A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Use the Docker command and keep data Run the provided docker run command, make sure the -v ./data:/opt/data line is included, and note that the app is reached through port 6246, the number you add to your server's address in a browser. That data folder stores your settings and library information, so if you skip it, your setup can be lost when the container is recreated. source

Common questions

What persistent volume should I mount for Maintainerr, and why is it important?

Mount a host folder to /opt/data inside the container. It stores settings and library information, so skipping it can lose your setup when the container is recreated.

How do I run Maintainerr from a subdirectory?

Set the BASE_PATH environment variable and include that path at the start of API endpoints, such as /maintainerr/api/health/ready.

Why are image features missing on an older x86-64 VM?

Overlay and collection poster features use sharp, which requires an x86-64-v2 CPU. Maintainerr still starts on older CPUs, but those features are disabled unless the VM CPU type is set to host, x86-64-v2, or newer.

How can Maintainerr clean leftover files from the media folder?

Mount the media library into the container at the same path that Radarr or Sonarr reports it at. The leftover-folder cleanup then uses that mount.

How do I turn off Maintainerr's anonymous usage reporting?

Set the TELEMETRY environment variable to off.
