First-install notes

  • Use CPU OpenCL if you have no GPU If you are not using a graphics card, install the PoCL OpenCL runtime on your Linux server before starting the app. OpenCL is the software that helps the app use your CPU, and without it the app may not find a usable device. source
  • Add Nvidia OpenCL for GPU speed If you have an Nvidia GPU, install the matching Nvidia driver and OpenCL runtime on your Linux server before starting the app. If this is missing, GPU acceleration will not work and processing can be much slower. source
  • Intel CPUs may need a special runtime If you are using an Intel CPU, follow the Intel OpenCL install steps so your server can find the CPU runtime. This helps avoid missing-device errors when the app tries to start. source
