Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • First install Use /opt/sagetv as the SageTV base directory; an existing server directory is upgraded. Use /var/media for SageTV recordings, with a tv subdirectory created for recordings. /var/tv can store TV recordings separately, and /var/mediaext can hold extra media. On Unraid set PUID to nobody, PGID to users, and VIDEO_GUID to video when using PCI/USB capture. source

Common questions

Which base and recording directories should I configure for the SageTV server image?

Use /opt/sagetv as the SageTV base directory. Use /var/media for recordings, with a tv subdirectory created for recordings, and you can store TV separately in /var/tv or extra media in /var/mediaext.

What Unraid permission settings should I use for PCI or USB capture?

Set PUID to nobody and PGID to users. Also set VIDEO_GUID to video when using PCI or USB capture.

Where can I get official open-source SageTV setup instructions?

Use the SageTV Downloads and Instructions section of the SageTV Community forum. It is intended for downloads and setup instructions, not general questions.

Can I install the Java 16 server on Unraid from Community Apps?

Yes, find sagetvopen-sagetv-server-java16 in Community Apps and install it from your server. It uses /opt/sagetv as the base directory for SageTV server files.
