Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Pick the Docker image for your CPU Use the image architecture that matches your host, such as amd64 for a typical x86 Linux PC. If it does not match, the container may fail to start or run poorly. source
  • Keep your files in the mapped folder Map a real folder on your server to /data inside the container, for example /nspmdata:/data. This is where your files and settings live, so deleting or moving it can wipe your setup. source
  • Set timezone and open port 8000 Set TZ to your local timezone and expose port 8000 from the container to your machine. That keeps time and logs in a readable format and lets your browser reach the web UI. source

Common questions

Which Docker settings are required for a working NSPanel Manager installation?

Use the image architecture that matches your host, such as amd64 for a typical x86 Linux PC. Map a real folder on your server to /data because this is where your files and settings live, and deleting or moving it can wipe your setup. Set TZ to your local timezone and expose port 8000 so your browser can reach the web UI.

Do I need a standalone MQTT server?

No, if you use Home Assistant or OpenHAB, they can provide an embedded MQTT server through their integration. Otherwise, you need an MQTT server up and running.

Where is the current list of bugs tracked?

The known issues page describes bugs that the maintainers cannot fix. For the current list of bugs, enhancements, and other issues, use the GitHub repository.
