Common questions

Can I point Alby Hub at an existing LND node instead of using its built-in node?

Yes. It uses an embedded LDK node by default, but can also be configured for LND, Phoenixd, Cashu, or CLN.

What do I need to change if I run Alby Hub behind a reverse proxy on a subpath?

Build the HTTP frontend with BASE_PATH set to the proxy subpath, such as /hub, before building the HTTP production app.

Which port and data directory should I use for a simple Docker setup?

The documented local Docker example exposes 127.0.0.1:8080 to container port 8080 and mounts the host data folder at /data with WORK_DIR set to /data.

Does Alby Hub recover automatically after an internet outage on Start9?

On Start OS 0.4.0 Beta, it may not reconnect automatically after an outage; you may need to restart the Alby Hub service and sign in again with the authentication code and password.

Is it safe to leave Alby Hub directly exposed to the internet?

No. Exposed instances up to version 1.18.5 had a critical flaw that let attackers take over the node and move funds, so check your version and close public exposure before patching.
