First-install notes
- Set the server URL path and port Before starting Calibre's web server, set the URL prefix (the extra path, such as /calibre) and port (the number it listens on, such as 8080), otherwise your browser or proxy may not be able to reach it. If you use a reverse proxy, also bind to 127.0.0.1 and use basic auth, a simple username/password check, to keep the service local and protected. source
- Requires Calibre-Web-Automated Shelfmark is an add-on to Calibre-Web-Automated; you must have Calibre-Web-Automated set up first for library integration to work. source

Common questions
What port does the web interface use after a standard Docker Compose start?
The quick start tells you to open the interface on port 8084 after running the service.
Which volumes should I mount so books land in Calibre-Web-Automated?
Mount a config volume for config, database, and artwork cache, plus a books volume for downloaded books. Point the download volume to your Calibre-Web-Automated ingest path, and use the optional client path only if you match it exactly to a torrent or usenet client.
Can it use an existing login method instead of its own user list?
It supports built-in login, OIDC single sign-on, proxy auth, and Calibre-Web database authentication.
What download source types can I configure?
You can configure web, torrent, usenet, and IRC sources. For torrent or usenet downloads, the optional client path must match the directory used by your download client.
Does it handle protected websites or private network routing?
It provides configurable proxy support, DNS settings, and optional Cloudflare handling for protected sources.
Can I share one instance with other readers?
Yes, it supports multiple users with a request system, approvals, and configurable notifications.
