Platform availability

Available on 4 of 9 platforms

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Start Wizarr with Docker Compose After saving the Compose file, run `docker compose up -d` (or `docker-compose up -d`) to start Wizarr. Docker Compose is the small script that launches the app in the background, and without this step Wizarr will not be available for invites or setup. source
  • Add a welcome message for invited users Use the post-invite step to add a short welcome with clear next steps, like signing in to Plex and finding your server. This helps new users finish setup immediately instead of guessing what to do after receiving an invite. source
  • Use the Markdown template for wizard steps When writing onboarding steps, copy the basic Markdown example that shows headings, lists, links, and buttons. Markdown is simple formatting text; following the template avoids layout mistakes that make the invite pages hard to read. source

Common questions

How can I make sure Wizarr settings and data survive container recreation or updates?

Mount a valid host directory to Wizarr's data path, for example /path/to/appdata:/data. If the volume mount is not configured correctly, settings and data are not persisted when the container is recreated.

When should I set DISABLE_BUILTIN_AUTH=true in the Wizarr Docker environment?

Set DISABLE_BUILTIN_AUTH=true only if you are using another auth provider, such as Authelia or Authentik.

How can I reset the Wizarr admin password?

Run the reset-admin-password command on the Wizarr server.

How can I see a list of all users in Wizarr?

Run the list-users command on the Wizarr server.

How can I tell newly invited users what to do after they finish signup?

Add a post-invite step with a short welcome and clear next steps, like signing in to Plex and finding your server.

What format should I use when writing Wizarr wizard steps?

Use the Markdown template for wizard steps, which supports headings, lists, links, and buttons.
