Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Run Homer from a web server, not file:// Download the release zip, unzip it, copy assets/config.yml.dist to assets/config.yml, then serve the folder with a web server such as Python's http.server on port 8010. If you open it as a local file, Homer will not load because it needs HTTP to fetch its files. source
  • Keep and edit assets/config.yml The main dashboard settings live in assets/config.yml, where you set the title, logo, columns, and service cards. Keep a backup of that file after you configure it, because losing it means losing your dashboard layout and links. source
  • Allow the web server port you choose Homer needs to be reached over the port used by your web server, and the example uses 8010 for Python's http.server. If your network or firewall blocks that port, the dashboard will not open in the browser. source

What can cause Smart Card problems in Homer?

The troubleshooting documentation points to CORS issues with Smart Cards.
