Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set your PVS-Studio login after install After installing the package, run pvs-studio-analyzer credentials with your real username and license key. Without those details, the analyzer may not work as licensed and you may get no results. source
  • Install helper tools before adding the repo On apt-based Linux systems, install wget, gnupg, and jq before adding the PVS-Studio repository and installing the package. These tools fetch and verify the repository files, so missing them can stop the install partway through. source
  • Archive installs need strace 4.11 or newer If you use the tar.gz archive, make sure the strace tool version 4.11 or higher is installed before running ./install.sh. Strace is a low-level command-line debugging tool, and without it the installer may fail. source
