Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Build the Docker image on first run Run `docker compose up --build` the first time, then `docker compose up` for later starts. The build step creates the container pieces the service needs, so skipping it on first run can make it fail to start. source
  • Install the Python package before use Run `pip install -U "MemoryOS[all]"` and confirm Python can import `memos`. This installs the main package; examples, tools, or agent setup can fail if it is missing. source
  • Register the right agent skill folder If you are connecting an agent such as Cursor, Codex, Claude, OpenClaw, or Hermes, run `memos init --agent <name>` so its skill files are placed in the matching folder. If that folder is missing, the agent will not be able to find or use Memos. source
