.NET Runtime

.NET Runtime is a minimal, secure runtime environment for running compiled .NET applications.

  • Tools & Utilities
.NET Runtime is a minimal, secure runtime environment for running compiled .NET applications. It ships only the essential libraries and the .NET host needed to execute your app, so developers and homelabbers get a smaller, lower-attack-surface alternative to a full development image and a lightweight base for custom .NET containers.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set up ODBC/SQLite if your app uses a database If your .NET app uses SQLite through ODBC, install unixODBC (the ODBC driver manager) and the SQLite ODBC driver in your Fedora container. Without them, the app will fail to open a database connection. source
  • Install TPM tools only if you need TPM Only install tpm2-tools if you plan to use TPM (trusted platform module) features. Without it, TPM-related operations will fail. source
  • Use port 8000 for the web sample If you are running the WebAssembly sample, open http://localhost:8000/ after it starts. If nothing loads, the sample is not running or port 8000 is blocked. source
