Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Add the required JSON settings before starting Put the server's JSON config (with HTTPSERVER, HTTP_REST, and THREAD_POOL sections) in place before you start it. If these settings are missing or wrong, the REST server will not start and your app cannot serve API calls. source
  • Set basic auth login settings If you need username/password login, add the Basic Auth TlppData (the server’s extra settings line) pointing to your validation function. Without a working check for the username and password, users cannot sign in or requests are rejected. source
  • Test that the service is up After starting, request the /totvs/environment endpoint to see version info as JSON. If it fails, the server, port, or network path is not ready, so check those before using other endpoints. source

Common questions

What JSON settings must be in place before starting the REST service?

Put the server's JSON config in place before start, including HTTPSERVER, HTTP_REST, and THREAD_POOL sections. If these settings are missing or wrong, the REST server will not start and cannot serve API calls.

How do I enable username and password sign-in for the REST service?

Add the Basic Auth TlppData extra settings line pointing to your validation function. Without a working username and password check, users cannot sign in or requests are rejected.

How can I confirm the REST service is up before using other endpoints?

Request the /totvs/environment endpoint after starting it to see version info as JSON. If it fails, check the server, port, or network path before using other endpoints.

What non-app issue can self-hosters overlook when deploying a REST service?

Self-hosters may overlook crucial computer network problems, risks, or other potential issues. Network aspects should be factored into the setup.
