Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Set up the production config file Copy production.yaml.example to config/production.yaml and edit it for your server before starting PeerTube. Without the right settings, it won't know your site address or where to save your videos and data. source
- Install the support programs first Install the required system programs such as Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis, and FFmpeg, and check that their versions are new enough. If a support program is missing or too old, PeerTube may fail to start, process videos, or save your content. source
- Start and enable the services Start PostgreSQL, Redis, and Nginx, and make them start automatically on boot. If they are not running or enabled, PeerTube can break after a reboot or lose access to the database. source

Common questions
What must I configure before starting PeerTube in production?
Copy production.yaml.example to config/production.yaml and edit it for your server. If the site address and video/data storage location are not set, PeerTube will not know where to store your content.
Why might PeerTube fail to start or stop working after a reboot?
Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis, and FFmpeg must be installed with supported versions and running. Start PostgreSQL, Redis, and Nginx and enable them to start automatically on boot.
Does PeerTube reduce the bandwidth required on the hosting server?
Yes, P2P technologies can reduce inbound bandwidth because users watching a video can share the load, unless they disable the feature.
Is there a mobile app for using PeerTube?
PeerTube has a mobile app that lets you discover, watch, and share videos across the federated network in one interface.
