Common questions
What permission must the SmartThings PAT have for the bridge to set up?
It needs at least r:locations:* permission to read locations. Without a valid token with that permission, the bridge cannot see the home and setup fails.
How can I inspect the MQTT topics and messages from the bridge?
Use mosquitto_sub with -h for the broker IP and -v for verbose output. Subscribe to the smartthings/# topic or # to see the traffic.
What can cause the bridge to stop sending events to the SmartThings hub?
A configuration problem can cause this. MAC address changes on virtualized NICs have also been identified as a factor.
