Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Open Plik's port when using Docker Use the Docker command with -p 8080:8080, which forwards Plik's main port (a numbered network doorway) from the container to your machine. If you skip this, you may be able to run the container but still be unable to open Plik in a browser or upload files. source
  • Start the service on Debian/Ubuntu After installing plik-server with apt, run sudo systemctl start plikd so the Plik server is actually running. If you install it but forget to start the service, Plik will not accept uploads or downloads. source
  • Check plikd.cfg before relying on it If you install from the release archive, look in the server folder for plikd.cfg and make sure its settings match how you want to store and share files. A missing or wrong config can make Plik behave unexpectedly after you first start using it. source
