Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Start Docker with an admin password Start the Docker container (a portable app package) with port 3000 mapped, and set PSITRANSFER_ADMIN_PASS to a password you choose. This lets you open the site in a browser and sets your admin password safely. source
  • Make your data folder use UID 1000 Save your files in the data folder you mount into the container, and make sure it is owned by UID 1000 (the numeric user ID the container uses). If the ownership is wrong, PsiTransfer may fail to save uploads or read files back. source
  • Open port 3000 to reach the site By default, PsiTransfer listens on port 3000 (the number after the site address), so that port must be open for your browser to reach it. If you use a custom port, set PSITRANSFER_PORT and map the container port to match it. source
