Davos is an FTP/SFTP file-download automation tool that periodically scans remote host locations for new files and triggers downloads on a schedule. It provides a web-based interface for managing scan schedules, downloading, and moving files, and supports completion notifications plus downstream API calls to integrate into broader workflows. It is aimed at homelab users who still receive data via legacy FTP file-drops and want a self-hosted, Docker-friendly replacement for cron-based FTP clients.

How is this calculated?

A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

Where should SFTP identity files be placed when running Davos in Docker?

Davos cannot see files outside its /download and /config directories inside the container. Put identity files in the host directory that is mapped to those paths.

Can an upgrade to 2.2.0 break existing FTPS schedules?

Yes. Version 2.2.0 switched FTPS connections to Explicit TLS instead of Implicit SSL, so earlier FTPS schedules may stop working.

How does Davos avoid downloading the same file twice?

Each schedule keeps an internal record of what it scanned during the previous run. It uses that record so the same file is not downloaded again.

Can downstream API call URLs include the downloaded filename?

Yes. Since version 2.2.1, API call URLs can use $filename resolution.

Has Davos been reported to freeze under Docker on macOS?

A GitHub issue reports freezes on an old MacBook Pro using Docker Desktop, even though resource usage was not limited and Docker allowed full use of the Mac's resources.
