Habridge emulates the Philips Hue local discovery API so that voice assistants and home-automation gateways such as Amazon Echo and Google Home can control devices that expose their own API. It handles basic Hue commands such as on, off, brightness, and color, and can drive most devices with a distinct API. It is aimed at homelab users who want to expose existing smart-home devices to Hue-compatible hubs without a physical Hue Bridge. Amazon Echo Gen 1 devices are best supported, as Gen 2 units have reported issues discovering the bridge.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

How does HAbridge handle deprecated -D command-line arguments?

HAbridge reads the old -D arguments and populates the configuration screen, specifically the Bridge Control Tab. You can save the configuration there to a file, so the old arguments are not needed.

Is there a community guide for using HAbridge with Alexa or Google Home?

A community guide describes setting up HAbridge as an emulated Hue bridge for Alexa or Google Home. It includes Raspberry Pi installation steps and instructions for using a current version.

What network setup was reported in an HAbridge Echo pairing trouble thread?

One user reported trouble while Alexa was connected to a wireless UAP-AC-PRO and HAbridge was running on a hardwired Raspberry Pi on an EdgeRouter.
