Based on 3 of 4 factors.

How is this calculated?

A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

How should I expose the add-on?

The Docker example binds 127.0.0.1:7000:7000. The README recommends keeping the port private or putting a rate-limiting reverse proxy in front because there is no authentication or rate limiting.

What should I set when using a reverse proxy?

Set PUBLIC_URL to the base URL that clients use for image links. The default uses the request Host.

Can I add other German public broadcasters?

Set CHANNELS to MediathekView channel names. Defaults are ARD, ZDF, and ARTE.DE, with examples such as 3Sat, BR, WDR, and ZDFinfo.

Why do catalogs miss older shows?

Catalogs only cover the newest CATALOG_DEPTH films per channel, defaulting to 2000. Older shows are still available through search.

What happens if MediathekViewWeb is unavailable?

Previously loaded results keep being served. The API result cache lifetime is controlled by CACHE_TTL_MINUTES.
