GridCraft is a fast, open-source spreadsheet application that re-implements the Microsoft Excel workflow with a clean-room design. It provides 500+ formulas, dynamic arrays, LET and LAMBDA, conditional formatting and colour scales, charts, PivotTables and XLSX import/export. Built for analysts and anyone who needs an Excel-style spreadsheet, it runs natively on Mac, Windows, Linux and BSD and in the browser via WebAssembly.

First-install notes

  • Install GridCraft into SvelteKit Run npm install @mediakular/gridcraft in your SvelteKit project, or use yarn, pnpm, or bun if you prefer one of those. Without this package, the Grid component import will fail and the table will not appear. source
  • Connect your data to the grid Import Grid from @mediakular/gridcraft in a Svelte page and connect it to your list of rows with bind:data. If the data is not connected, the table will be empty or it may not update when your data changes. source
  • Use paging for large lists Create a paging setting that includes itemsPerPage, currentPage, and itemsPerPageOptions, then pass it to the Grid. Without paging, a large dataset can all appear at once, making the page slow or hard to navigate. source
  • Install the native desktop app Download the latest native build for Mac, Windows, Linux or BSD from the GitHub releases page. GridCraft also runs in the browser via WebAssembly. source
