Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

Can I upload screenshots to my own self-hosted storage from Macshot?

Macshot can upload to any S3-compatible service, including MinIO, Cloudflare R2, and AWS S3, in addition to Google Drive and imgbb. The link is copied to the clipboard after upload.

What should I do if capture stops working after upgrading from 4.3.x to a 4.4.0 beta?

Remove macshot from the System Settings permission list with the minus button, then add it back from Applications with the plus button. Re-enable Accessibility or Input Monitoring if prompted; settings, history, and recordings are preserved.

Where does Macshot store local screenshot history, and what should I avoid deleting?

Macshot stores local screenshot history in ~/Library/Application Support. Do not delete that folder just to free space, because it can make you lose your saved screenshot history.
