Common questions

Does ihasmail need its own database or separate backup?

No. It keeps nothing of its own; mail, calendars, contacts, files and filters remain in Stalwart, where the server backups already are.

Can I set up ihasmail and a new Stalwart mail server in one step?

Yes. The docs describe ihasmail-oneshot as setting up Stalwart and ihasmail together in one command. The Installing page also says you can go from nothing to signed in in about ten minutes with Docker.

Is there a Stalwart migration tool in the docs?

Yes. The documentation lists a stalwart-migrator page under the Installing section.

Can admins manage server accounts and tenants from ihasmail?

Yes. The documentation’s Settings area includes an Administration section for accounts, groups, lists, tenants, roles and domains.
