CacheParty is a LAN game-download cache: a single-binary, drop-in replacement for lancachenet/monolithic. It caches plain-HTTP downloads from Steam, Battle.net, Epic, Riot, Xbox/WSUS, PlayStation and everything else in uklans/cache-domains, so each game is downloaded from the internet once and then served to every PC on your network at LAN speed. It uses the same environment variables and access.log format as monolithic, and adds streaming request coalescing, adaptive read-ahead, an internet download speed limit, fast restarts and a built-in dashboard with live throughput and per-game, per-client traffic. Setup: give the container its own IP on br0 (ports 80 and 443 are taken by the Unraid web UI), then point lancache-dns, Pi-hole or AdGuard Home at that IP for the cache-domains lists. HTTPS (:443) is passed through, not cached. CacheParty cannot read an existing monolithic cache, so

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

Does CacheParty cache HTTPS game downloads?

No. It caches plain-HTTP downloads only, and port 443 is a blind SNI passthrough.

How do I point my network at the cache?

It sits behind lancache-dns. Point lancache-dns, Pi-hole, or AdGuard Home at the CacheParty IP for the cache-domains lists.

Can I limit the internet bandwidth used by the cache?

Set UPSTREAM_RATE_LIMIT to cap upstream internet bandwidth. Cache hits are still served at full LAN speed.

Can I migrate from lancache/monolithic?

It is a drop-in replacement for lancachenet/monolithic. It uses the same environment variables and access.log format.

How do I repair or purge cached data?

Bad chunks are repaired on the fly when requested. Use cacheparty verify to check the whole cache, and cacheparty purge or the dashboard to remove one game.
