VynodeIPTV is a self-hosted IPTV server, browser video wall, and Android TV companion that connects to your Xtream account, imports channels and EPG (electronic program guide), and streams authenticated HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) to each player. It provides guide grids, custom channel groups, independent browser video walls, playback health diagnostics, and server-side HLS remux or CPU conversion (GPU transcoding is not yet implemented), and currently runs as an x86-64 container on hosts such as Unraid.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Install on Unraid Pull the container image ghcr.io/minerport/vynodeiptv:latest (linux/amd64) and open the WebUI at http://YOUR_UNRAID_IP:8580. The bundled Unraid template (deploy/unraid/iptv-server.xml) maps the port, persistent configuration, and scratch directories, and must be installed manually because it is not a Community Applications listing. Create a username and password in the WebUI, and ensure the appdat source

Common questions

Why should I avoid setting PUID/PGID for VynodeIPTV on Unraid?

The image runs as UID/GID 10001 and does not implement PUID/PGID. Make the configuration and scratch directories writable by that user instead.

Which port does VynodeIPTV use, and can it be exposed to the internet?

The container listens on 8080 internally, while the Unraid example publishes 8580. The Docker example binds 127.0.0.1:8580, so it is localhost-only and internet exposure is not supported by this preview.

Which directory should I back up from VynodeIPTV?

Back up /config because it stores the configuration, encryption key, and password hash. /transcode is disposable media scratch and does not need to be preserved.

How do I authorize an upgrade for an existing VynodeIPTV installation?

Use the previous administrator key once, or reuse an already signed-in browser tab, to authorize the upgrade. After setup, the old key no longer grants dashboard or media access.

Can the Android TV app use VynodeIPTV as middleware or connect directly to Xtream?

The Android TV companion can pair with the server and use it as streaming middleware, or it can connect directly in standalone Xtream mode.

Does VynodeIPTV transcode streams for browser playback?

It uses FFmpeg to remux for compatible clients or convert to H.264/AAC on the CPU for browsers.
