RCON Web Admin is a self-hosted web control panel for managing game servers with Remote Console (RCON) support. It lets you send server commands, check player ping and VAC status, and filter chat in real time, all from a browser. Ideal for anyone running a game server on an always-on home lab or Raspberry Pi.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Enter your game server's RCON details Before starting RCON-WebAdmin, set the game server host, RCON port, and RCON password. RCON is the remote console password your game uses for admin commands; if it is wrong, the app cannot connect and commands will fail. source
  • Open the RCON port on your server If your game server uses a non-default RCON port, enter that port in the app and allow traffic to it in your firewall. Without that open port, the web page may load but the app cannot send commands to the game server. source
  • Test with a simple RCON command After first run, check that a harmless command such as list or help works. If it does not respond, the most common causes are the wrong host, port, password, or a firewall blocking the connection. source
  • Docker Network Isolation Running RCON Web Admin in a Docker Compose setup keeps your game server's RCON port isolated within the Docker network, improving security. source

Common questions

Why might the RCON-WebAdmin interface load but commands not reach the game server?

Check the game server host, RCON port, and RCON password, and allow firewall traffic to the RCON port. If the port is not open, the page may load but the app cannot send commands.

What permission should I try if CFX users cannot send commands in the webadmin console?

Try adding the webadmin .console.write permission. Simply allowing webadmin may already grant all permissions.

Do some dedicated game servers need extra launch parameters before RCON details work?

Yes, one dedicated-server user found that RCON had to be activated with launch parameters before the saved RCON details provided access.

Does RCON-WebAdmin only support one specific game's RCON protocol?

No, the README states all servers with RCON support should work.
