KnightLoader is a self-hosted, cross-platform download manager that gathers files from hosters, debrid services, torrents, Usenet, videos and streams into one web interface. It routes each link to the right backend: your existing debrid service, a built-in torrent client, your own Usenet servers with par2 repair, yt-dlp for videos and streams, or an automatically configured headless JDownloader for the rest, and it appears to Sonarr and Radarr as a qBittorrent or SABnzbd client. Built for homelab users who want a modern, clean alternative to JDownloader on a server or desktop, with an Android app, a browser extension and encrypted remote access without a domain or port forward.

Common questions

Can I install the Android app directly from Google Play?

The app is only in Google Play testing until enough testers keep it installed. You must join the tester group, become a tester, install it, and keep it for 14 days.

Can I control multiple KnightLoader instances from my devices?

Yes. The Android app is a remote for every KnightLoader you run, and the browser extension can send a page, link, or Click'n'Load button to the instance you pick.

Does KnightLoader require an account or paid tier?

No. It is free with no accounts, no ads, and no paid tier. KnightLoader collects nothing about you.

How are updates handled?

It always downloads the latest build.
