  • Media Servers
A live TV tuner for Plex and Jellyfin that appears as an HDHomeRun network tuner. It loads your channels from one file, starts with an empty lineup, and finds each channel's current stream on demand without re-encoding. It supports YouTube, Twitch, Kick, broadcaster pages, and direct HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) streams, and merges XMLTV schedules with placeholder blocks so the guide is never empty. It suits homelab media users who want on-demand live channels without storing video.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

Should I expose Tellyard to the internet?

No, Tellyard has no login, so keep it on your home network and do not forward port 5004.

Do I need a separate Tellyard app on my phone?

No, Tellyard is added as a network tuner in Plex or Jellyfin. It can then play on the TV, phone, or browser devices those apps reach.

Can I record live TV from Tellyard?

Watching live TV is free, but recording in Plex requires Plex Pass.

What happens if a live stream drops?

Tellyard tries to restart a stalled or dropped source on its own. It can make up to three tries in a row.

How can I check whether a channel’s quality is high enough?

Run tellyard check to tune each channel and report the resolution it actually sends. Set MIN_HEIGHT, for example 1080, so lower-quality channels are rejected.
