Makes an IPTV subscription show up as live TV in Plex, by pretending to be an HDHomeRun tuner. Give it an m3u playlist URL or an Xtream account, or several of each, and it filters, renames and numbers the channels, proxies the streams so your provider only ever sees one viewer, and serves an XMLTV guide with your channel logos. ffmpeg is included, for RTSP channels and HLS with fragmented MP4 segments. The first start writes settings.json into the config folder and prints a dashboard password in the container log, so open the log first. Put your provider in settings.json, restart the container, then add an HDHomeRun tuner in Plex at your server's address and port 1234. Apart from the dashboard there is no login, so keep it on your LAN.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • First start and Plex setup The first start writes settings.json into the config folder and prints the dashboard password in the container log, so open the log first. Add your m3u playlist URL or Xtream account to settings.json, restart the container, then add an HDHomeRun tuner in Plex pointing at your server's address and port 1234. Aside from the dashboard there is no login, so keep the service on your LAN. source

Common questions

How do I get PlexIPTV recognized by Plex after the first start?

Put your provider in settings.json, restart the container, then add an HDHomeRun tuner in Plex at your server's address and port 1234.

Where do I find the dashboard password on first run?

The first start writes settings.json into the config folder and prints the dashboard password in the container log.

Can multiple people watch the same IPTV subscription through PlexIPTV?

It proxies the stream so the provider only ever sees one viewer, the server. This can let several people watch the same channel on a line that allows one.

Do I need to install ffmpeg separately?

ffmpeg is included for RTSP channels and HLS with fragmented MP4 segments.

What happens if my IPTV provider goes offline?

It caches the playlist locally and falls back to it when the provider is down.

Should I expose the PlexIPTV interface outside my LAN?

Apart from the dashboard there is no login, so keep it on your LAN.
