First-install notes

  • Install the main Aurora package Run pip install microsoft-aurora before trying examples or commands. It provides the core Aurora code, and without it nothing Aurora-related will run. source
  • Install notebook helper packages If you run the example notebook, run pip install gcsfs cdsapi zarr matplotlib. These download, open, and plot weather data, so missing any of them can stop the notebook. source
  • Add the ai-models plugin only if needed Run pip install ai-models-aurora only if you want to use Aurora inside ECMWF's ai-models tools. It is optional, so you can skip it for a simple first install. source
  • Install via Plugin Manager In Unraid, go to Plugins → Install Plugin, paste https://github.com/Tunefish92/Aurora-Theme/releases/latest/download/Aurora-Theme.plg and click Install. How do I install Aurora Theme on Unraid?

In Unraid, go to Plugins → Install Plugin and paste the release .plg address, or run the plugin install command over SSH. It requires Unraid 7.2 or newer.

How do I choose dark or light mode?

It follows the Dynamix colour theme in Settings → Display Settings, with Black giving the dark look and White giving the light look. The round button at the top right switches between them.

Does it restyle tables from other plugins?

Yes, every table, including tables of plugins, gets the same card style.

How does the layout work on phones and tablets?

Phones and tablets keep the top bar layout instead of the optional sidebar.
