Kapowarr allows you to build a digital library of comics. You can add volumes, map them to a folder and start managing! Download issues of the volume (or TPB's), rename them and move them. The whole process is automised and is all customisable in the settings.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Keep Kapowarr's database folder saved outside In the Docker setup, map a folder on your computer to /app/db (for example -v /opt/Kapowarr/db:/app/db). This keeps Kapowarr's settings and library data, so they don't disappear when the container is updated or recreated. source
  • Pick the port you'll use to reach it In Docker, map the app's internal port 5656 to a port on your computer, such as -p 8009:5656. That is the web address you'll use to open Kapowarr; if you skip it or use the wrong one, the page won't load. source
  • Point it at your comic and download folders Map your real comic library to /comics and a temporary download folder to /app/temp_downloads. Without these paths, Kapowarr won't know where to find existing comics or where to put new downloads. source

Common questions

How should I save Kapowarr's database when using Docker?

Map a host folder to /app/db, for example -v /opt/Kapowarr/db:/app/db. This keeps Kapowarr's settings and library data when the container is updated or recreated.

What port should I expose for the Kapowarr Docker container?

Expose the container's internal port 5656 to a host port, such as -p 8009:5656. If the mapping is missing or wrong, the web page will not load.

How do I use Kapowarr's alpha releases?

Pull the Docker image from the mrcas/kapowarr-alpha repository. Alpha fixes are released as stable after problems found in alpha are fixed.

Can Kapowarr import an existing comic library?

Yes, you can import your existing library right into Kapowarr. You can then add volumes, map them to a folder, and manage issues.
