Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions
Can MediaCache cache media for both Plex and Jellyfin at the same time?
Yes, it can work with Plex, Jellyfin, or both at the same time, with Jellyfin support marked as experimental. If an episode is wanted on either server, it is cached once and stays on cache until nobody needs it.
What port does the MediaCache Web UI use?
Docker uses default port 5757. Manual + Web UI uses default port 5000, while Manual + CLI has no Web UI.
How do I keep the Unraid mover from moving cached files?
MediaCache provides a mover exclusion file as part of its Unraid integration. The file keeps the mover from moving cached files.
Do I need to set up cron for scheduled runs?
No for Docker or Manual + Web UI, because scheduling is built in and available via the Web UI. Manual + CLI uses external scheduling such as cron or User Scripts.
When a watched file is no longer needed, are sidecar files handled?
Yes, watched media goes back to the array with its subtitles and artwork. Retention rules and eviction also keep the cache drive from filling up.
