WatchSense

WatchSense suggests TV series to watch next, based on your own viewing history and an LLM of your choice.

  • Media Applications
WatchSense suggests TV series to watch next, based on your own viewing history and an LLM of your choice. It imports what you watched on Netflix (session cookies with automatic sync, bookmarklet or CSV), Prime Video (bookmarklet or CSV), Stremio (account sync) and Trakt (data export), enriches it with TMDB metadata (posters, genres, streaming providers of your region) and asks any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, cloud (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Groq, Mistral, ...) or local (Ollama, LM Studio), for recommendations. Your ratings, show status and taste notes shape the next suggestions. TV series only: films found in your histories are stored but not shown or used. Disney+, Apple TV+ and other services without a viewing history are not imported. All data stays on your server in one SQLite file plus the key that encrypts saved secrets (/app/data). The free TMDB API key and the LLM provider are set in

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Can I use a local LLM for WatchSense recommendations?

Yes, WatchSense works with any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including local options such as Ollama and LM Studio.

Where is WatchSense data stored and how can I back it up?

All data is kept in a single SQLite file. You can also export your cross-platform history as CSV and your viewer profile as JSON.

Does WatchSense recommend films as well as TV series?

No, WatchSense is for TV series only. Films found in imported histories are stored but not shown or used.
