Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Start API after Redis is running In apps/api run pnpm install and pnpm start to install packages and launch the API, workers, and local dependency containers. Firecrawl expects Redis (a fast in-memory data store) to already be running, so without it the service won't work. source
- Use your Firecrawl API key When your code or app talks to Firecrawl, set the API key in the client or in the FIRECRAWL_API_KEY environment variable. Without a valid key, scrape/crawl requests will be rejected. source
- Install Playwright browser files If you run the Playwright service, install its npm packages and browser binaries with npm install and npx playwright install. Without the browsers, Firecrawl can't load pages that need JavaScript. source
