LightCraft Web is a community-maintained Docker image that provides LightCraft, a non-destructive photo editor, through a browser-based WebAssembly application. It is designed for photo development and image editing, including RAW photo workflows. The web application runs on the user's device and uses browser storage for its local-first library; photographs are not stored in a Docker volume by this container. The container only serves the static web application through NGINX.

First-install notes

  • First run uses your Pictures library When LightCraft first starts, it opens the photo library in ~/Pictures/LightCraft Library and can create one with demo photos if it is missing. Keep that folder safe and backed up, because it is where your LightCraft photos and work live. source
  • Ports: 8080 for web, 7980 for control The web UI is available at http://127.0.0.1:8080/ when it is running, and the optional automation control channel uses port 7980. If you need to reach either from another device, open the relevant port; otherwise the browser page or control tool will not connect. source
  • AI masks need a Hugging Face token If you want AI masks, set HF_TOKEN to your Hugging Face token (your personal download key for model files) and run the provided installer script once. Without that model download, LightCraft does not have the SAM 3 model, so the mask feature will not work. source
