Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Trying it out The defaults run on the normal bridge network in dry-run mode. Open the WebUI, finish the setup wizard, and click through the guest pages on the portal port. source
  • For real use Set Network Type to your services VLAN (e.g. br0.51) with a fixed IP (e.g. 10.51.0.2). The port settings are then ignored (the portal listens on 80 and 443, the admin page on 8081). See the network guide in the project's docs. source

Common questions

Do I need to expose a webhook or open ports for guests to purchase passes?

No, PassGate works behind any ISP, including CGNAT, and does not require port forwarding or webhooks.

What access do guests have if the PassGate server is unavailable?

It fails closed while the server is off, so guests get no internet access instead of free access.

Can a guest add more time or devices after the initial purchase?

Yes, a day pass can be stacked on top of another pass, and extra device slots can be added at checkout or later with proration for the time left.

Are Stripe refunds or cancellations reflected automatically?

Yes, refunds and cancellations made in the Stripe dashboard are picked up automatically.

How can a guest connect a TV or game console that does not need a normal login?

TVs and consoles are added by MAC address, and access follows each device when its IP changes.
