  • Get your FreeTheAI API key Join the FreeTheAI Discord and run /signup to get your API key, then keep it safe because it proves your account is allowed to use the service. If you lose it, run /resetkey, otherwise the app can't authenticate and every request will be rejected. source
  • Set the required base URL and auth Point your client at https://api.freetheai.xyz/v1 and send the API key as a bearer token (the Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY line). If the base URL or auth setting is missing or wrong, the app has nowhere to send requests and no valid way to sign in. source
  • Use exact model names Check the supported models from the /v1/models endpoint and copy the exact model names into your app. If a model name is missing, renamed, or typed incorrectly, the service won't know what to use and the request can fail. source
