Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Keep config and data folders safe In Docker Compose (the file that tells Docker how to run the app), map your local config and data folders to /config and /data, and expose port 8080 (a numbered connection point) if you need to reach it from another device. If you delete or forget to back up those folders, you can lose Kometa's settings and data, and without the port you can't connect to it. source
  • Run Quickstart before manual edits Start with the Quickstart setup script after the local install steps, instead of hand-writing every file first. It creates the basic first-run configuration, so you don't miss starter settings and end up with a broken setup. source
  • Add your Plex address and token Enter your Plex server's URL and its token (a secret key Kometa uses to log in to that server) in the Plex configuration. If this is missing or wrong, Kometa can't connect to Plex or manage your movies and shows. source
