Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Create your web login during first run Run the setup command with the -s flag before normal use; it asks for a username, email, and password and creates the web interface database. Skip this and you may not be able to log in or manage pyLoad from the browser. source
- Run it as the pyload user and check port 8000 The test command starts the web interface on localhost:8000, so allow that port if you plan to open it in a browser. Running it as the pyload user helps keep file permissions tidy so later runs do not fail because of ownership mistakes. source
- Let the first start create your data folders The plain pyload command creates the default directories if they do not already exist, and that is where your settings and download data will live. Back them up or keep them safe; losing them can wipe your configured plugins, accounts, and download history. source

Common questions
How do I create the initial web interface login for pyLoad on Linux?
Run the setup command with the -s flag before normal use. It asks for a username, email, and password and creates the web interface database. If you skip this step, you may not be able to log in or manage pyLoad from the browser.
Which port should be allowed for the pyLoad web interface?
The test command starts the web interface on localhost:8000. Allow port 8000 if you plan to open the interface in a browser.
How can I avoid file permission failures when running pyLoad?
Run pyLoad as the pyload user. This keeps file ownership tidy and helps prevent later runs from failing because of ownership mistakes.
What should I check if pyLoad-ng reports SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG?
Check whether the CA bundle path is misconfigured. It may also help to have the reverse proxy terminate SSL.
