OneDev is an all-in-one DevOps platform that features Git repository management with language-aware code search, issue management with custom states and fields, and a docker-first Kubernetes native build/CI engine. An alternative to GitLab, it is easier to use and maintain, with lots of unique features OneDev by default uses an embedded database to store data. You may use environment variables to connect to external database if desired. See Documentation https://code.onedev.io/projects/162/files

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Save OneDev files in a real folder When you start OneDev with Docker, use the -v ./onedev:/opt/onedev part to store OneDev in a normal folder you keep safe. Without that, your projects and settings can disappear when the container is deleted. source
  • Open the two OneDev ports Use -p 6610:6610 for the web UI/API and -p 6611:6611 for Git/SSH code access. If these ports are blocked, OneDev may be running but you can’t open it or push code to it. source
  • Mount Docker only if you run Docker jobs If you plan to run container build jobs, include -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock. This socket lets OneDev use the host’s Docker, so without it those jobs can’t start. source

Common questions

How can I avoid losing OneDev data when running it with Docker?

Mount a persistent folder to /opt/onedev using -v ./onedev:/opt/onedev. If you do not do this, your projects and settings can disappear when the container is deleted.

Which ports must be exposed for OneDev to accept web and Git access?

Expose port 6610 for the web UI/API and port 6611 for Git/SSH code access. If these ports are blocked, OneDev may be running but you may not be able to open it or push code.

Can customers submit tickets to OneDev by email without having an account?

Yes. OneDev’s service desk lets customers submit tickets by email without a OneDev account. Tickets are created in the matching project and assigned according to your issue creation settings.
