Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Install the Muse Python package first Use pip (Python's package installer) to run pip install muse-maskgit-pytorch before trying the examples. Without this step, your code cannot import Muse or create the image-generation model. source
  • Let Muse fetch the T5 text model once The helper downloads T5 (the small text model that turns your prompt into usable instructions) and its tokenizer, then caches them for later runs. If this download or cache is blocked or deleted, Muse will fail before it can generate an image. source
  • Keep the VAE weights file in place The example loads a pretrained file named pretrained_vae.pt from the current folder, which is the image-encoding part of Muse. If that file is missing, renamed, or in the wrong folder, the setup will error before you can create images. source

Common questions

Which Docker image should new deployments use?

Use the Muse image under the museofficial GitHub Container Registry. Docker Hub tags may exist only as compatibility mirrors.

Which API keys must I provide before running Muse?

Muse requires a Discord bot token and a YouTube API key. Spotify keys are optional and enable Spotify URL conversion.

Should I run Muse from master or a tagged release?

The master branch is bleeding edge and not guaranteed to be stable. For a production instance, use the latest release.

How do I invite Muse into a Discord server?

When Muse runs, it logs a URL to open in a browser for the invite. After it is added, it DMs the server owner setup instructions.

Can one Muse instance serve multiple Discord servers?

Yes, a single Muse instance supports multiple guilds.

How do I enable SponsorBlock skipping in Muse?

SponsorBlock is disabled by default. Set ENABLE_SPONSORBLOCK=true to enable it, and adjust SPONSORBLOCK_TIMEOUT to change how long Muse skips requests when the service is unavailable.
