Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Install Multi on your Mac Use Homebrew (Mac's package installer) and run brew install --cask multi in Terminal. This installs the Multi app so you can start making your own web app shortcuts. source
  • Create your first web app Run the create-mac-app script with an app name, then open the app it creates to finish setup. This makes a separate Mac app for a website, and the preferences window lets you configure it. source
  • Set the website in JSON Add at least one tab with the website's url to the app's JSON (text settings file). If this is missing or wrong, the app will not know which page to open. source
  • Run as a Docker container Pull and run the foxxmd/multi-scrobbler Docker image. Configure supported music sources and scrobbler targets after deployment. source

Common questions

Can I keep my existing Last.fm or ListenBrainz scrobbling setup and still use multi-scrobbler?

Yes. You can use Last.fm or ListenBrainz as a Source to forward scrobbles from your profile to another client.

What host address should I use if multi-scrobbler and the music source are on different machines?

Use the IP address or domain name where multi-scrobbler is reachable instead of localhost. This is likely the same host name you use to access its web interface.

Can multi-scrobbler be configured for more than one user?

Yes. It supports configuring for a single user or multiple users, so you can scrobble for friends and family.

Can it help migrate a Last.fm history to a self-hosted scrobbler?

One user backed up over 12 years of Last.fm scrobbles with the tool and imported the history into Maloja.

What happens if a scrobble client is temporarily unavailable?

It uses graceful network and client failure handling. Scrobbles are queued and automatically retried.
