Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set your database connection Provide the database settings before starting BarcodeBuddy, including the database name, server address, port (often 3306), username, and password. Without these, the app cannot save barcodes, users, or settings and may show errors. source
  • Install PHP packages with Composer Use Composer (the PHP package installer) to install the required libraries and include the Composer autoloader. If this is missing, the app may crash because PHP cannot find its helper classes. source
  • Create your first login account Use the sign-up flow with a valid email address and password to create a user account. If the details are invalid or the account already exists, the app will reject the signup, so plan your login details. source
