Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Point lms at the right LM Studio server The lms command talks to LM Studio through an API server (the part that accepts model requests). On the same computer it can usually find the local one; on another computer, give the host address and port so requests don't fail or time out. source
- Start the local server first Before running lms commands, make sure LM Studio or its local API server is already running. If the local server isn't up, lms may not be able to find it, and commands can fail. source
- Keep your server config file safe lms can read a server config file that controls settings such as the port. If you customize that file, keep a safe copy so you don't lose your settings after cleanup or reinstall. source
- Connect a compatible client Use a Subsonic or OpenSubsonic-compatible client to connect to LMS and stream the library. source

Common questions
Can LMS use more than one authentication method for users?
Yes. It includes user management with several authentication backends.
Can external music clients connect to LMS?
Yes. LMS supports the Subsonic/OpenSubsonic API and includes jukebox support.
How fast is the default audio-similarity recommendation engine for large libraries?
It uses MusicNN embeddings, and reported throughput ranges from about 1,000 tracks/hour on a Raspberry Pi 4 to about 25,000 tracks/hour on an Intel Core i5-13500. Performance depends on scanner threads and storage speed.
Where should I put artist metadata and images?
LMS supports an Artist information folder anywhere within the scanned libraries. It is best placed in a dedicated ArtistInfo directory in the root of a media library.
Which external services can LMS use for listen tracking and feedback?
It supports ListenBrainz for scrobbling, synchronizing listens, and synchronizing love feedback. It also supports Last.fm for scrobbling listens.
