Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Install a local Chromium binary first If you are setting up local development with Playwright, a tool that controls a browser, run npx playwright install chromium before launching anything. This downloads the actual Chromium browser file, so Playwright can find and start it instead of failing immediately. source
- Tell your code where Chromium is When your code uses a browser-control tool such as Puppeteer or Playwright, set executablePath, which is the exact browser file location, to the value from the @sparticuz/chromium package. Also include the package's args list, which are the startup options Chromium needs, so the browser can launch instead of failing. source
- Set Lambda environment paths If you are using AWS Lambda, a cloud service that runs code in short bursts, use the package's setupLambdaEnvironment helper to set the required environment paths for fonts, home files, and system libraries. These tell the browser where it can find its supporting files, so it can start inside the restricted Lambda sandbox. source
- User and group mapping Set the PUID and PGID environment variables to your host user's numeric IDs so the container can read and write the /config volume, then persist /config to keep the browser profile between runs. source
