First-install notes
- Install and run from your terminal Run `npm install -g omniroute`, then `omniroute`; this installs and starts the app, and the dashboard opens at http://localhost:20128 (your computer's local address). Without the install step, the command will not work, and you can use `--no-open` if you do not want the browser to open. source
- Keep DATA_DIR and secrets safe On first start, OmniRoute creates its secrets (the keys used for logins and API access) and database in DATA_DIR (the folder where it stores its data). Keep that folder backed up and do not delete it, or you can lose your settings and access. source
- Make the AppImage executable If using the Linux AppImage, run `chmod +x OmniRoute-*.AppImage` before running `./OmniRoute-*.AppImage`; without execute permission, Linux may refuse to start it. source

Yes, run npm install -g omniroute and then omniroute. The dashboard opens on the local port 20128, and --no-open can prevent the browser from opening.
